Sonido! is a little gem that will inspire you to travel to South America to try some delicious food and coffee.

This place is very special, not only does it have very nice coffee, it is also packed full of South American cuisine and specialties.  Located in Fitzroy on Gertrude Street, I chose not to try the house blend rather the specialty Paula Reyes Oaxoca, Mexico beans by Wood & Co.  I also ordered Arequipe (Dulce de leche), a Columbian caramel dessert served over the top of fresco cheese.  This is definitely one of my favourites.  After my initial tasting of the coffee I used some of the caramel as a sweetener stirring it in, OMG yes please!

The latte was had a gorgeous note of fudge and toffee and left a afternote of citrus on the back of the palette.  It was a smooth and relax brew and one which would easily become a regular.  If you are in the area and looking to try something very different why not stop by and take a trip to South America.
